SOCORRO

MAGIC!

& the Revillagigedo Islands

Blue Water

November 10-19, 2026

The Revillagigedo Islands are a group of four volcanic islands in the Pacific Ocean, known for their unique ecosystem.

The islands are home to many endemic plant and animal species. Socorro Island is the most diverse in flora, fauna, and topography. The islands lie 250 miles off Baja Mexico's southern shore.

These islands are a spectacular magnet for the largest ocean pelagic animals in the world.
Shark lovers get ready! Socorro islands are host to schooling hammerheads, tiger sharks, silky sharks, Galapagos sharks, duskies and oceanic white tips.

We hope to share the water with friendly bottlenose dolphins, clouds of jacks and barracuda, tuna, wahoo, and giant, inquisitive manta rays - Socorro's claim to fame!

We will have the most extraordinary experience with giant manta rays in the world! They are known for their playfulness and coming very close to divers to enjoy their bubbles!

And now under construction is a brand new boat...

"Quino del Mar"

This new boat is 118’ long, with a 26’ beam with a thick steel hull and is super stable. There are 10 air-conditioned cabins with comfortable beds and quality linens. Each has a private bathroom and natural light.

The boat boasts a spacious dive deck, exceptional food and relaxing sun deck.

The diving:
Diving will be from two 18-foot Achilles inflatable pangas, each accompanied by a vigilant driver who constantly monitors for emerging bubbles. The transfer from the boat to the dive site is typically brief, facilitated by sturdy and user-friendly ladders on the pangas.

Divers are organized into three groups, each led by a divemaster for the dive excursions. Upon receiving a detailed dive briefing, each group gears up, embarks on the panga, and enters the water with a back roll entry. The attentive crew is available to assist divers with any physical limitations they may have. Group dives are conducted, and at the conclusion of the dive, the panga will approach each diver. Weights and BCDs are removed and lifted into the boat by the driver, and divers then remove their fins before boarding the vessel. Upon returning to the main boat, the crew will stow the gear and can hand back any cameras to the divers.

6 Diving Days:
We will have 6 diving days, unlike most other charters which have 5. The islands lie 250 miles off Baja Mexico's southern shore. We plan to dive the islands of San Benedicto, Socorro, and Roca Partida. Due to the distance to Clarion, this is only dived on longer expeditions.

We meet at San Jose del Cabo on November 10th for our 26-28 hour long journey out into the Pacific!

November is the season when pregnant whale sharks are in the area! Can you imagine diving with whale sharks?

This destination can only be dived by a liveaboard dive vessel. It takes approximately 26-28 hours one way to reach the islands. This is an excellent dive destination for large pelagics due to the islands' open ocean nature, which sometimes includes currents and choppy conditions. The underwater topography consists of rocky outcroppings, boulders, and some incredible walls.

The vessel: I have been looking a long time for the perfect trip to Socorro.

Mexico Liveaboards is a woman-owned company with exceptional safety, superb crew and outstanding and plentiful food.
