Dominica is our favorite place to dive in the Caribbean!

7 Nights -

For our TENTH visit to this magical island, we are partnering with a remarkable resort, crafted by twenty years of vision and painstaking attention to detail. This magnificent, sustainable luxury property has unrivaled service, food, location, and atmosphere to match.

You have never been to a place like Coulibri Ridge.
I was speechless the first time I visited; feeling almost as if I had been to a Mayan temple built into the side of a mountain.

A few minutes’ drive from the Soufriere Scotts Head Marine Reserve, Nature Island Dive, their Coral Restoration project and some of Dominica’s best dive sites, Coulibri Ridge is an off-grid hilltop oasis built and operated on 100% renewable energy. Powered completely by trade winds and the Caribbean sun, Coulibri Ridge is proof that you needn’t sacrifice comfort to enjoy a sustainable dive vacation.

This 280 acre luxury resort is the only one in the Caribbean to be listed on “Beyond Green” as one of the most sustainable properties in the world.

Ninety percent of the electricity comes from 300 solar panels on this South facing ridge and the other ten percent comes from two slow moving, fauna friendly wind turbines.

Rain water is collected for use on the property, even running down the perfectly aligned staircases as waterfalls when the rain is heavy. The rooftop swimming pools are cleansed through an ionization process, which makes the water so clean that the birds drink it!

Water and electricity usage per guest is calculated so that resources can be moved around to meet the need.

You will stay in one of 14 spacious suites with breathtaking ocean views.  Each room has books, yoga mats, games, binoculars and a book about the local birds. Coulibri means hummingbird in French and the property has many onsite.  We will savor one of the best locally- sourced gourmet tables on island with a different menu available every night. The resort has its own garden and plant-based options are offered with every meal.

When not diving, with Nature Island Dive, you have an opportunity to discover the lush beauty of Dominica.  Enjoy cool waterfalls and hot spring baths. Or simply stay in, take a dance or yoga class, dip a toe in one of the rainwater infinity pools and indulge in a spa massage.

Caring about ocean environments, making sure they are respected and minimizing our presence undersea so all can continue to enjoy amazing dive sites for years to come is what Coulibri Ridge and Nature Island Dive are all about. DiverMojo invites you to be swept away to an unforgettable stay in one of the planet’s most environmentally conscious hotels and enjoy a remarkable dive vacation leaving behind a barely noticeable fin print.

The Diving
Many of us believe that Dominica provides the best diving in the Caribbean. There is abundance of marine life, showering schools of creole wrasse, magnificent barrel sponges, soft and hard corals, turtles, octopus, and even a sea horse or two.

Dive sites are 5 minutes from shore and we come back to the dive shop café for our surface interval and snack.

Nature Island Dive is an exceptional dive operation. They are a Reef Conservation Partner and well known for a deep commitment to ocean conservation. The DiverMojo Foundation, in fact, has donated two coral trees that Nature Island Dive is using to grow stony corals.  For a special few divers, there may be an opportunity to visit and help maintain these trees.

Water temperature should be in the high 70s, and most dives are easy, though there can be some current from time to time.

In addition

We will visit the Sulphur Spring in Soufriere, or hike to some waterfalls. Every afternoon there is an outdoor dance class and yoga!
