Belize As Never Before

DiverMojo is delighted to return to Belize, after our spectacular April trip.
This year, we are adding an extra day and an additional tour in Placencia during the beginning of the trip.
This unique trip includes two nights deep in the jungle of South Belize with tours of your choice, such as Mayan ruins, jungle river kayaking, cacao farming and five days as volunteer scientist divers.
We meet in Placencia on Saturday, February 8, and stay together at the Sea View Suites. On Sunday, after breakfast, you will have a tour of your choice, the opportunity to swim in the sea and to do a bit of souvenir hunting.
Monday to Friday, we will be on Tom Owens Island, a one-and-a-half-acre island on top of the Belize Barrier Reef. This is the home of Reef Conservation International.
There, we will help with conservation activities and have fun dives aplenty.
Friday, we leave for Cotton Tree Lodge in the jungle of South Belize. At this remarkable eco resort, we will be treated to organic food, home grown and also freely available in the rain forest.
Our week ends with an included flight to BZE to board your return flight home.

Our Trip: Experience Belize As Never Before
Below you will see details for the three exciting places where we will be staying. It is going to be a blast!
Sea View Suites Placencia
Sea View Suites is a boutique hotel. Situated in the heart of beautiful Placencia, Sea View Suites is only a short walk to the local village center where markets, banks, bars, restaurants and beaches are located. Relax on the rooftop deck with a full view of Placencia Village, the mountains, the lagoons, and the Caribbean Sea.
Plan to arrive as early as you can so that you have the day to explore the town. We will meet our group at the hotel and have dinner together at a local restaurant on Saturday.
After breakfast on Sunday you will have a tour of your choice. We will reconvene for cocktails and dinner and then be picked up Monday morning at the Hokey Pokey dock by the Reef CI boat for our hour-long ride to Tom Owens Caye.
Reef Conservation International
At Reef CI we will have a unique opportunity to protect the reef ecosystem by directly participating in marine conservation programs. Lion fish hunting, lobster surveys and coral farming are a few of the activities you and your buddy can choose. These will be interspersed with fun day and night dives and plentiful meals specially prepared for us.
Our accommodation will be rustic and a mix of single- and multi-bedded rooms all with a spectacular view. Air conditioning is not needed on the island, because it is located 25 miles off the mainland with strong trade winds. AND, there are no mosquitos or sand flies.
Food is freshly prepared by the Mayan chef and guests rave consistently. Check it out on Trip Advisor.
Friday morning, we leave the island and return to Independence where our van from Cotton Tree Lodge will collect us.
Cotton Tree Lodge
This remarkable off-grid jungle retreat on the Moho river will be our home for the last weekend of our trip. The Lodge is nestled between two Mayan villages in the foothills of the Mayan Mountains.
Our all-inclusive stay includes organic food grown on Cotton Tree's own farm, local beer & rum and a special tour of your choice each day. There is so much to see and do here we will all want to come again next year.
Our trip ends with shuttle service to Punta Gorda airport on Sunday to join your international flight at BZE.

• The price includes all meals beginning with dinner on Sunday, February 9 and ending with breakfast on Sunday, February 16.
• All accommodations, tours, diving, internal transportation are included after arrival at Placencia.
• The flight from Punta Gorda to BZE Is included.

EXCLUDES:
• International round trip flights to BZE
• Single flight from BZE to Placencia
• Lunch and dinner on Saturday, and breakfast and lunch on Sunday
• Dive insurance including repatriation (required); we like DAN.
• Travel Insurance (recommended); we like Allianz.
Regarding your return flights from Punta Gorda to BZE: They will be arranged for you each individually based on the departure time of your International flight and you will be driven to the Punta Gorda airport. Please make your departure from BZE no earlier than 10:00 a.m. on February 16.
When you have your flights booked, please e-mail the details to me, so we can book your internal flight.
A non-refundable deposit of $750 will hold your place.
